Known History
Sometime in about 1998 this boat was purchased
from a charity and and lived on for a while
until the purchaser moved the boat to Perris, CA
presumably to continue living aboard but without
paying fees. Through a series of unknown
transactions it was acquired by a retired
business owner who had a long time hobby of
refurbishing city buses and making them luxury
RV's. Dave even wrote a few books about
it. After about
2 years of working on the interior and other
things Dave grew anxious about completing the
boat and advertised for partners in the expense
of getting her ready to sail. I met Dave
in about September 07 and began helping him with
the refit, after about 6k and many weekends of
labor the boat was in the water (April 1, 2008)
and we sailed her to Catalina.
On her maiden
voyage she was amazingly fast to Avalon took us
5.5 hours and on the way back to San Pedro we
were in the harbor in 4.5 hours, averaging 6.5
knots. Dave
decided he wasn't up for a long term committment
and ultimately signed over full ownership to me.
I've owned her ever since and have been
continuing to upgrade the boat as time and money
allows. She is a very capable and fast
coastal cruiser and I've outfitter her for
comfortable fun weekends at the island or at the
dock but you can read more on the blog.
Thanks for visiting.
